Your phone is not here. Now what?
This list covers the handsets people ask about most, not every device ever sold. Most phones on earth are not on it, and plenty of them take an eSIM perfectly well. Two minutes of checking beats any list, including ours.
The authoritative check takes ten seconds. Dial *#06# on the handset itself and look for an EID beneath the IMEI. If it is there, the phone has eSIM hardware. If it is not, nothing will change that.
Why a supported phone still fails

Every one of these is common enough that we would rather you check the handset than trust a list, including ours.
Regional variants
The same model number sold in a different market can ship without the hardware. Mainland China iPhones take two physical SIMs and no eSIM. Several Samsung variants do the same.
Carrier locks
A locked handset can have a perfectly good eSIM chip and still refuse to install a third party profile. The EID will be there and the install will fail anyway. Only the carrier can undo it.
Profile slots run out
Most phones store a limited number of eSIM profiles and only one or two can be active at once. If installs start failing after several trips, delete an old profile before assuming the phone is broken.

What people ask before their first eSIM
Short answers. The install itself takes about two minutes.
My model is on this list but the install failed. Why?
Almost always a carrier lock. Run the ten second check: if an EID is present, the hardware is fine and the block is your carrier's. They can remove it, usually free once the contract is settled.
Do I lose my normal number?
No. The eSIM runs as a second line for data while your usual SIM keeps calls and texts. Turn roaming off on the home line before you land or your carrier will bill you regardless.
Can I install the eSIM before I travel?
Yes, and you should. Install while you still have working internet at home. Most plans do not start their validity clock until the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination.
How many eSIMs can one phone hold?
Storage is usually between five and ten profiles, but only one or two can be active at a time. Delete profiles from finished trips rather than letting them accumulate.
My phone is not on this list at all. Does that mean no?
Not necessarily. This list covers the handsets people ask about most, not every eSIM capable device ever sold. Run the check on the phone itself, which is authoritative in a way no list can be.
